Her projects how the invisible takes form in everyday objects, reflecting the circumstances and human activities of consumer society.&nbsp; Her work has been exhibited internationally at Somerset House (UK), Museum Brot und Kunst (Germany), MMoP Miyota Museum of Photography and Asama International Photo Festival (Japan), Gallery DE BOUWPUT (Netherlands), and Whitespace Gallery (Singapore). Takemura is the winner of the Japan Photo Award 2018, a recipient of the Sony World Photography Awards 2018, and was shortlisted for the Kassel Dummy Award 2020.Her projects have been featured in publications including Libération, Die Tageszeitung, IMA Magazine, VICE and i-D. She received her BA with honours from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2016. A compelling reflection upon modern day consumerism, Luxury Beyond Death highlights how relatives burn paper offerings at the graves of the deceased with the belief that they will need the same luxury items that they had when they were still living. The project highlights our obsession with consumerism whilst simultaneously raising questions about what awaits us in the afterlife. a visual anchor, the project investigates how socially prescribed feminine ideals persist silently in everyday objects, outliving the context that produced them, revealing the subtle tension between past expectations and present realities. The shopping girl archetype, a round-faced, smiling, often wearing an apron and carrying a basket or products, draws on post-war American ideals of domestic femininity. During the Cold War, this figure embodied the cheerful, service-oriented housewife promoted as part of a vision of modern life in which capitalism promised convenience, abundance, and happiness. In Japan, under US occupation, this visual culture was adopted and transformed into character forms, integrated into print media and everyday objects. The character representing Japan’s interpretation of American modern life subsequently reached Taiwan, where Japanese visual culture remained influential after the end of colonial rule and re-circulated. Today, the image continues to circulate through packaging and printed materials, passing unnoticed and unquestioned even as social norms around femininity have shifted. <img width="1023" height="719" 典型的「購物女孩」圓潤的臉龐、帶著微笑，常穿著圍裙並手提籃子或商品、源自戰後美國對家庭女性氣質的理想想像。在冷戰時期，這個形象體現了一種愉悅、以服務為導向的家庭主婦形象，並被納入對現代生活的願景之中：在這樣的想像裡，資本主義承諾帶來便利、豐盛與幸福。在美國佔領時期的日本，這種視覺文化被引入且轉化為角色化的形象，進一步融入印刷媒體與日常物件之中。 反映日本對美國現代生活詮釋的此一角色形象隨後傳入臺灣。在殖民統治結束之後，日本的視覺文化在臺灣仍持續發揮影響並再次流通。時至今日，這樣的圖像依然透過包裝與印刷品不斷流傳，在人們未曾察覺與質疑之下延續存在，即使關於女性氣質的社會規範早已發生轉變。（日）台湾の食品包装袋に印刷されている笑顔の女性像「ショッピング・ガール」を出発点とし、このありふれたアイコンが戦後アメリカから日本を経て現代の台湾へとどのように伝播してきたのかを辿るリサーチ・プロジェクト。過去の社会が規定した「理想の女性像」が、現代においても日常的な風景の中に息づき続けている様子を考察する。 戦後・冷戦期のアメリカは、資本主義が利便性や豊かさ、幸福を約束するとし、そのシンボルとしてシステムキッチンや家電のほか、夫や子供のために明るく奉仕する「家庭的な主婦像」を宣伝に利用した。 この50年代アメリカの主婦のイメージは、米国占領下の日本において、商業イラストレーションやキャラクターデザインに取り入れられ、笑顔でエプロンを身につけ、買い物かごや食料品を抱えた女の子「ショッピング・ガール」が広告やパッケージデザインの中に定着していった。 その後、この女性像は植民地支配終了後も日本の視覚文化が大きな影響力を持ち続けた台湾へと伝わり、さまざまな形で流通していった。
